Asheboro, NC (January 30, 2021) – On Friday night, January 29, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Asheboro.
According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of North Fayetteville Street and West Salisbury Street. An officer was responding to an emergency call in the area when the officer’s cruiser and another vehicle collided. One of the vehicles went off the side of the road and struck the First United Methodist Church immediately following the initial crash.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash. The officer was hospitalized, as well as the other driver involved in the accident. Their conditions are not yet known.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
