Bath, NC (December 7, 2021) – On Sunday, December 5, a child was involved in a pedestrian accident during a parade in Bath.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a 9-year-old child was participating in a parade for Christmas and fell out of a truck. The child was riding in the back of the pickup truck at the time. After falling onto the road, the child was struck by a trailer. Police confirmed that the driver of the truck immediately stopped at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The child was severely injured as a result of the accident. They were rushed to Vidant Medical Center by medical helicopter.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time.
