Burgaw, NC – Multi-Vehicle Collision with Injuries in EB Lanes of I-40

Burgaw, NC (April 26, 2021) – On Sunday night, April 25, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries took place on a highway in Raleigh.

According to officials with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-40 around the area of Exit 408. One driver was speeding in the area when they struck a pickup truck carrying a trailer. A vehicle on the trailer flipped and struck a third car.

Paramedics and local fire crews were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. A total of four victims were taken to the hospital for treatment but they are expected to fully recover.

One driver was cited for failing to reduce their speed.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
