Cary, NC (August 31, 2021) – Around 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening, August 30, a child was injured in a bicycle crash in Cary.
According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of West Cornwall Road and Union Street. A child was traveling on a bicycle in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The child, identified only as a local 8-year-old, was injured as a result of the collision. They were transported to the hospital but are expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
