Cary, NC (July 4, 2021) – Officers reported a fatal car accident late Wednesday evening, June 30, and said it occurred at a local intersection near the Morrisville-Cary town line in western Wake County.
Troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said that the crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Morrisville Parkway and Creek Park Drive. Officers arrived at the scene to discover two vehicles on fire with several victims trapped. Police and other witnesses at the scene tried to help one of the drivers and put out the fire that had started in the wreckage. At least one victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, and EMS transported one other victim to an area hospital via ambulance.
No other details were immediately available, but officers say that the crash remains under investigation at this time.
