Cedar Point, NC (January 29, 2021) – Around 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, a three-vehicle crash occurred at an intersection in Cedar Point.
According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of Highway 24 and Highway 58 when three vehicles collided due to reasons that are not yet known. It is believed that one of the vehicles crossed the center line and collided with another, which then involved a third vehicle. The vehicles were left with extensive damages.
Paramedics and a medical helicopter were dispatched to the scene of the accident. One person was reportedly taken to the hospital by helicopter and one additional person was hospitalized by ambulance. Their conditions are not yet known.
Traffic was busy in the area of the intersection at the time of the crash. Traffic was diverted in the area for several hours as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.
