Charlotte, NC (December 25, 2021) – Around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 25, a serious car accident occurred on a major roadway in the Charlotte area.
According to officials, the accident happened on northbound Interstate 85. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the chain-reaction collision were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. At least two victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, several lanes of traffic were blocked at mile marker 27 for an extended period of time. Police urged those in the area to use an alternate route for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
