Charlotte, NC (February 13, 2021) – Around 6:35 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, February 13, a car accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Charlotte.
The Charlotte Fire Department and officers with the Mecklenburg Police Department said they responded to calls regarding the incident, which occurred near 8000 Albemarle Road. In addition to injuries reported at the scene, multiple power lines and poles in the area had been knocked down as a result of the accident. Albemarle Road was shut down and travelers were urged to seek an alternate route.
It is unclear at this time what led to the accident; however, road conditions Saturday morning were hazardous with rain and ice.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
