Charlotte, NC (January 5, 2021) – Around 7:31 p.m. on Monday night, January 4, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in Charlotte.
Charlotte officials confirmed that the accident took place at the intersection of Central Avenue and Carolyn Drive. The pedestrian, identified as 64-year-old Rovella Doreen Harris Evans, was crossing the street when she was struck by a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Evans was badly injured as a result of the accident. She was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene to cooperate with the police. Central Avenue was closed down at the scene of the accident for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
