Clayton, NC – Eight-Vehicle Crash at Guy Rd & US Hwy 70 Leads to Injuries

Clayton, NC (April 7, 2021) – On Wednesday afternoon, April 7, an eight-vehicle crash took place at an intersection in Clayton.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Guy Road and U.S. Highway 70. Eight vehicles collided in the area, which led to extensive damages. Police confirmed that one vehicle did not brake, which caused it to crash into several other vehicles. This set off a chain-reaction collision.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. Four people were hospitalized with various injuries but they are expected to recover.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time.
