Clayton, NC (June 28, 2021) – At 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, June 28, a serious pedestrian accident occurred in Clayton.
According to officials, the accident happened at 300 Vinson Road near the area of Riverstone Drive. A vehicle was traveling in the area when it suddenly struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was the only person injured in the crash. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The roadway was blocked for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
