Dunn, NC (April 13, 2021) – On Monday night, April 12, a child was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a roadway in Dunn.
According to Dunn Police, the accident happened on Spring Branch Road. A dog ran into the roadway and a 10-year-old girl chased after it. A driver did not stop in time and struck the child.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The 10-year-old female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, identified as 67-year-old Ronald Fox, also struck a vehicle. Two people inside the struck vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Fox has since been charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving, and felony death by vehicle.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
