Durham, NC – Firefighter Injured in Apartment Fire on E Hudson Ave

Durham, NC (March 2, 2021) – On Tuesday morning, March 2, a firefighter was injured in an apartment fire in Durham.

According to officials, the fire broke out in a 3-story apartment building at the Bay Creek Apartments on East Hudson Avenue. All residents inside the apartment were able to get to safety when fire officials arrived.

Durham firefighters were able to put out the fire in approximately 20 minutes. The fire broke through the roof and smoke poured out. A total of six apartment units had damage.

One firefighter received a burn injury as a result of the fire. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
