Durham, NC (October 29, 2021) – At 7:20 a.m. on the morning of Friday, October 29, a pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Durham.
According to Durham Police, the accident happened at the intersection of East Geer Street and North Alston Avenue. Four vehicles, including a school bus, suddenly became involved in a collision with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles went onto the sidewalk and struck a pedestrian that was walking in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Multiple children were on the school bus at the time but none of them received injuries. The pedestrian who was struck was seriously injure and rushed to the hospital for treatment after life-saving procedures were administered.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was closed for approximately two and a half hours.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
