Fayetteville, NC (February 20, 2021) – Around 9 p.m. on Friday night, February 19, a fatal crash took place at an intersection in Fayetteville.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the accident took place at the intersection of Raeford Road and Ireland Drive. Two vehicles collided with each other in the area, one of which was identified as a Mercedes. The Mercedes then went off the side of the road and struck a utility pole.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes, a 31-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Nobody else was injured as a result of the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
