Fayetteville, NC (November 6, 2021) – At 11:13 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, November 6, a pedestrian accident occurred in Fayetteville.
According to Fayetteville Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Ramsey Street and Facility Drive. A driver identified as 76-year-old Martha Lockley was traveling in the area when her Mercury collided with a pedestrian walking across the street. Lockley stopped and remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, identified as 72-year-old Jerry McDonald, was seriously injured in the accident. He was rushed to the hospital and remains there at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the intersection was blocked. Police urged those in the area to find alternate routes for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
