Fayetteville, NC (February 24, 2021) – Further details have been released after a fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Fayetteville on Tuesday evening.
An arrest has been made in connection to a crash that killed a motorcyclist and the motorcyclist has been identified, police say.
Carol James Allen, 65, of Fayetteville, was charged with felony hit-and-run after fleeing the scene of the fatal crash. Police said the driver of a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R6000 motorcycle, identified as 24-year-old Justice Shapson Ferreira, lost control of the motorcycle, fell, and slid into oncoming lanes of travel.
After falling, Allen hit Ferreira with his 2006 Toyota Camry on Morganton Road, near Evanston Street, and left the scene. He was arrested on Wednesday, per reports from local officers.
No further details have been released, and the investigation continues.
