Four Oaks, NC – Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on NC-96

Four Oaks, NC (August 20, 2021) – On Friday afternoon, August 20, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident on a major roadway in Four Oaks.

According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of NC-96 around the area of Four Oaks. A man was riding his motorcycle left of center when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck also traveling in the southbound lanes. The two forcefully collided, causing extensive damages to the motorcycle.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has only been identified as an adult male, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody was injured in the accident.

Due to the severity of the accident, the highway was closed down for approximately 90 minutes while police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
