Greensboro, NC (February 2, 2021) – On Monday evening, February 1, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Greensboro.
According to officials, the accident happened on Summit Avenue around the area of Cody Avenue. Police stated that 26-year-old Jonathan Smith was walking in the area when he was struck by a passenger vehicle that fled the scene of the crash.
Witnesses told police that the vehicle that struck Smith was identified as a white pickup truck that was driving north on Summit when it disappeared. Police have not yet found the responsible party.
Smith was rushed to the hospital with a variety of life-threatening injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
