Greenville, NC (October 31, 2021) – At 11:50 p.m. on Friday night, October 29, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Greenville.
According to Greenville Police, the accident happened on Northeast Greenville Boulevard around the area of The Horizon Apartments. A 22-year-old man named Nicholas Ramkissoon was operating a Toyota Camry in the area when he struck a pedestrian walking in the area. The pedestrian was traveling in a group of people at the time.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, identified as 21-year-old Katherine Nell Acierno, was taken to Vidant Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. She was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
