Greenville, NC (April 21, 2021) – On Sunday afternoon, April 18, a teen was injured in a pedestrian accident in Greenville.
According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened in an unidentified area where teens were playing basketball. At the time, 35-year-old Daina Renee Forrest was driving around and cursing at the teens, waving a knife. She intentionally drove off the side of the road and struck the children.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the teenagers was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. They are expected to recover from their injuries.
Police searched Forrest’s vehicle and found marijuana, cocaine, and a knife. She was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and felony cocaine possession.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
