High Point, NC (October 11, 2021) – One man sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision in High Point on Monday, October 11th.
At about 3:45 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 74 in the area of East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for reports of a crash. Sources reported that a 2005 Toyota Camry, driven by a 67-year-old man from High Point collided with a 2019 Jeep Cherokee.
The force of the impact forced the Camry off the righthand side of the interstate where it struck a highway exit sign and a large metal highway lighting structure.
High Point firefighters were able to extricate the man from the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash is being investigated by the High Point Police Department Traffic Enforcement and Investigations Unit.
