Hubert, NC (November 30, 2021) – On Tuesday morning, November 30, a bus crash caused injuries in one person at an intersection in Hubert.
According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of NC-24 and Pittman Road. A bus was traveling in the area when it came to a stop with its arm out and lights activated. A child was getting on the bus and nearly sitting down when an SUV crashed into the back of the bus due to unknown reasons. There were about 30 children on the bus at the time of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The children were checked out by EMS crews but nobody was hurt. The driver of the SUV, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Naval Hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
