Kenly, NC – Four Children Injured in Bus Accident on Weaver Rd

Kenly, NC (April 12, 2021) – At 8 a.m. on Monday morning, April 12, a serious school bus accident occurred on a roadway in Kenly.

According to Johnston County officials, the accident happened on Weaver Road and involved Bus 741. The bus was on its way to North Johnston Middle School when a black pickup truck suddenly slammed into the back of the bus.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Four students were injured and taken to the hospital. They are expected to make full recoveries.

The driver of the pickup truck was charged with felony failure to reduce speed.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
