Kinston, NC (October 12, 2021) – Early Sunday, October 10, a man was killed in a fatal crash that occurred on a major roadway in Kinston.
According to Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of NC-55 around the area of Greene Haynes Road. At the time, 29-year-old Sirtera Brewer was driving in the area when his vehicle was struck by a car being driven by 52-year-old John Gregory III. Brewer’s vehicle was then struck by a vehicle being driven by a 25-year-old Paul Johnson. The vehicles collided head-on and then caught on fire.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Brewer was critically injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if the other parties were injured.
The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes until police were able to fully clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
