Lumberton, NC – Injuries Reported in Truck Accident on I-95

Lumberton, NC (October 13, 2021) – On Wednesday, October 13, a truck accident with injuries occurred on a major highway in Lumberton.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-95. A tractor-trailer driver was traveling in the area when they rear-ended another tractor-trailer that was traveling at low speeds due to a blown tire. The vehicles sustained heavy damages as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of one of the vehicles was injured in the accident. They were flown to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Both southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for approximately two hours as police worked to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
