Mt. Holly, NC (January 26, 2021) – Today, January 26, a man was pronounced dead following a collision that took place last Friday in Mt. Holly.
According to officials, the accident took place at the intersection of West Charlotte Avenue and West Central Avenue when 23-year-old Devin Valentine was crossing the street. He was suddenly struck by a Jeep Liberty Limited that immediately fled the scene of the crash. Police did not yet locate the driver responsible for the accident.
Valentine was quickly transported to a local hospital and put on life support due to extensive injuries. However, he was pronounced dead while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation is currently ongoing.
