Oxford, NC (July 26, 2021) – Around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, July 25, one person was killed in a fatal truck accident in Oxford.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 206. A passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when it collided with a tractor-trailer due to reasons that are not yet known. The passenger vehicle was left with extensive damages due to the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene.
