Pembroke, NC – Dorris Dees-Gladden and Dorris Dees Killed in I-74 Wreck

Pembroke, NC (January 01, 2021) – A car accident in Pembroke on Monday, December 28th resulted in the deaths of two people, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The one-car accident took place at about 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 74 near Chicken Road. Larry James Gladden, a resident of Harrisburg, was driving on Interstate 74 when his 2013 GMC left the roadway where it struck a ditch and several trees.

Two other vehicle occupants, Dorris Debra Dees-Gladden, a resident of Harrisburg, and her mom, Dorris Dees, a resident of Chadbourn, were killed during the collision. 

A third passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries, along with the driver who has since been charged with reckless driving.

Driver impairment is not believed to be a factor in this accident.
