Pinetops, NC – Child Killed in Fatal House Fire on N 2nd St

Pinetops, NC (May 1, 2021) – On Thursday night, April 29, a child was killed in a fatal house fire in Pinetops.

According to police, the incident took place at 310 North 2nd Street. When fire crews were called to the scene around midnight, they found a two-story home that was fully engulfed in flames. A family was trapped in the house and worked to escape while fire crews arrived.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. A 6-year-old male child was unaccounted for. Fire crews were able to recover his body and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
