Princeton, NC – Child Killed in Fatal Car Accident on US-70

Princeton, NC (December 14, 2021) – Around 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon, December 13, a child was killed in a fatal car accident in Princeton.

According to Princeton Police, the accident happened on US-70 around the area of Dr. Donnie H. Jones Jr. Boulevard. Police confirmed that a large SUV was traveling west and a smaller SUV was traveling east with two teenagers and a small child inside. The small SUV made a turn and both of the vehicles forcefully collided. The vehicles were left with extensive damages as a result of the crash.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 18-year-old driver and the 15-year-old passenger in the small SUV sustained injuries and were hospitalized. A 10-year-old child in the same vehicle was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead while there.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
