Princeton, NC (April 18, 2021) – On Sunday morning, April 18, a serious car crash occurred at an intersection in Princeton that injured several victims.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of US-70 and Pine Street. A pickup truck allegedly ran a red light at the intersection, crashing into a passenger vehicle also traveling through the area. The vehicles were extensively damaged.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Six people received serious injuries as a result of the crash. They were taken to WakeMed for treatment of their injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was arrested on DWI charges after a cooler full of beer was found inside.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
