Raleigh, NC – Injury Accident Reported at S Wilmington St & Chapanoke Rd

Raleigh, NC (August 12, 2021) – At 2:27 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, August 12, a car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of South Wilmington Street and Chapanoke Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding forcefully with one another. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
