Raleigh, NC (December 28, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on the night of Saturday, December 25, a child was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Raleigh.
According to Garner Police, the accident happened on Woodland Road on Christmas. A family was parked on the shoulder of Woodland when a 2-year-old boy with the family ended up on the roadway. He was suddenly struck by a vehicle that was traveling in the area. The driver of the vehicle allegedly remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The boy was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remained in critical condition until he was tragically pronounced dead on Tuesday.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
