Raleigh, NC (September 25, 2021) – At 5 p.m. on the evening of Friday, September 24, a car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Raleigh.
According to Wake County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Poole Road and William Road. Two vehicles, including a passenger vehicle and a police cruiser, were traveling in the area when they collided at the intersection. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The deputy, as well as one other person, were injured in the accident. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the crash, all lanes of traffic were blocked for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
