Raleigh, NC – Head-on Collision at Pecan St & S Wilmington St

Raleigh, NC (December 1, 2021) – At 10:38 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, December 1, a head-on collision occurred at an intersection in Raleigh.

According to Raleigh Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Pecan Street and South Wilmington Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding head-on into one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not known at this time.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
