Raleigh, NC (March 15, 2021) – Around 7 p.m. on Monday evening, March 15, a car accident took place on a highway in Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident happened on I-440 around the area of Lake Boone Trail. A woman was driving in the area when her vehicle lost control, crashing off the highway and going down an embankment. While her vehicle was losing control, another vehicle swerved to get out of the way and also crashed.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The woman who caused the accident suffered from serious injuries while the other victim was also hospitalized.
The roadway was closed until approximately 8:30 p.m.
