Raleigh, NC (August 8, 2021) – At 10:30 p.m. on the night of Saturday, August 7, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident happened at 4600 New Bern Avenue. A pedestrian was walking in the area of New Hope Road when the party was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling through the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as an adult male, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The roadway was blocked for an extended period of time. Police confirmed that the driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
