Raleigh, NC (September 11, 2021) – Around 7 p.m. on Friday night, September 10, a man was killed in a fatal train accident in Raleigh.
According to Raleigh Police, the accident happened on the train tracks near 3900 Beryl Road around I-440. A male pedestrian was walking in the area when he crossed over the train tracks. He was struck by an Amtrak passenger train.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody on the train was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police had the scene fully cleared around 10:30 p.m.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
