Raleigh, NC (May 2, 2021) – At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, May 1, an officer was injured in a car accident in Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident occurred on Honeycutt Road in the area of Falls of Neuse Road. Police received reports of a suspicious person in the area. When police arrived, the driver of the vehicle swerved into the path of a police cruiser, causing them to collide forcefully with each other.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the passenger vehicle, as well as the police officer, suffered from injuries and were hospitalized.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a short period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
