Raleigh, NC (August 20, 2021) – Around 8 p.m. on Friday, August 20, a pedestrian accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Raleigh.
According to Raleigh Police, the accident happened on Buffaloe Road. A driver was attempting to pass another vehicle on the roadway when the driver lost control. Their vehicle ran off the road and struck a pedestrian who was walking in the area. The vehicle then kept going and ran into a power pole, leaving approximately 150 people without power for some time.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the crash. They are expected to recover from their injuries.
The driver involved in the crash may have been speeding when they lost control of their vehicle. They are expected to receive charges.
The roadway was blocked in both directions for some time until the scene was cleared.
