Raleigh, NC (August 22, 2021) – At 11:12 p.m. on the night of Thursday, August 19, a fatal truck crash occurred on a roadway in Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident happened at 8500 Glenwood Avenue around the area of Ebenezer Church Road. A vehicle was traveling north when the driver suddenly struck the back of a semi-truck due to reasons that are not yet known. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the passenger vehicle, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not believed that any other parties were injured in the collision.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
