Raleigh, NC (August 29, 2021) – Around 10:00 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, August 29, a car crash with injuries occurred on a busy highway in the Raleigh area.
Per reports from officers with the Raleigh Police Department, the accident happened on Interstate 540 at mile marker 9. Two or more vehicles were traveling on the eastbound side of the highway when the incident occurred. The vehicles collided in an apparent rear-end wreck, which led to extensive damages and possible serious injuries. The damaged vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the accident scene. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were injured. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.
