Raleigh, NC – Six Injured in Serious Car Accident on S New Hope Rd

Raleigh, NC (September 7, 2021) – At 5:30 p.m. on the evening of Monday, September 6, a car accident happened on a roadway in Raleigh.

According to Raleigh Police, the accident happened on South New Hope Road around the area of Crabtree Creek. A pickup truck and an SUV were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles both sustained severe front-end damage due to the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Three children and two adults inside one vehicle sustained injuries in the accident. An adult in the second vehicle was injured and hospitalized as well. One of the victims, identified as a 9-year-old, was taken to the ICU with serious injuries.

Two of the dogs in the first vehicle were killed in the accident. A Pitbull that the family recently adopted ran away from the crash scene and has yet to be located.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
