Raleigh, NC (May 5, 2021) – At 3 p.m. on the afternoon of May 5, a six-vehicle collision occurred on a major roadway in Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, the accident took place in the westbound lanes before the area of Trawick Road. Six vehicles collided with each other in the area. Police confirmed that the driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene on foot.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Multiple victims were hospitalized as a result of their injuries.
Police later found the driver responsible for the accident and they were taken into police custody.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
