Raleigh, NC – Two-Vehicle Accident Leads to Injuries on I-40

Raleigh, NC (February 21, 2021) – Around 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, February 20, a two-vehicle accident took place on a highway in Raleigh.

According to officials, the accident took place in the westbound lanes of I-40 around the area of the Aviation Parkway. Few details have been released but it is believed that multiple vehicles collided with each other in the area. The vehicles involved were badly damaged.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.

Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time. The accident damaged the median guardrail in the area.

The roadway was reopened in the area around 5 p.m.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
