Raleigh, NC (November 20, 2021) – At 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 20, a two-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Raleigh.
According to North Carolina Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened on I-40 around mile marker 299. A vehicle failed to reduce its speed while it was traveling on the highway. The vehicle slammed into another one, causing a damaging chain-reaction collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Three people in the vehicles were injured in the accident. The parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the highway until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
