Raleigh, NC (February 28, 2021) – On Saturday night, February 27, a woman was injured in a pedestrian accident in Raleigh.
According to police, the accident happened on New Bern Avenue when an unidentified woman was next to a vehicle in front of the local WakeMed hospital. The vehicle started to pull away while the woman was still tangled in the seatbelt. As a result, she was dragged for a short distance before the vehicle stopped.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with injuries, though the severity of her injuries is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked for an extended period of time.
Police continue their investigation into the accident.
