Rocky Mount, NC (December 19, 2021) – On Sunday, December 19, a body was found inside a distribution center in Rocky Mount after a Saturday fire.
According to officials, the fire broke out in the QVC Distribution Center off of Highway 64 and Kingsboro Road on Saturday. The large fire ripped through the building and completely engulfed several parts of the building while individuals were still working inside. A total of forty-five crews and six fire agencies were called to the scene to put out the flames. The company initially stated that they believed everybody was able to get out safely but one person was reported missing on Saturday.
The family of Kevon Ricks received the news this morning after finding out that Ricks was last heard from around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday. He was on his break at the distribution center at the time. He was tragically pronounced dead on Sunday morning due to injuries caused by the fire.
Sheriff’s Office deputies and QVC have not released any information on the source of the fire at this time. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
