Rocky Mount, NC – Tractor-Trailer Collision with Injuries on I-95

Rocky Mount, NC (April 22, 2021) – Around 3 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 22, a tractor-trailer collision with injuries occurred on a Rocky Mount highway.

According to officials, the accident happened on I-95 when two tractor-trailers collided around the area of NC-33. Both tractor-trailers were headed northbound when one lost control and jackknifed. A second tractor-trailer drove into the other tractor-trailer. Both spilled cargo all over the road in the area.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of one of the trucks was hospitalized but is expected to be okay. The other driver’s condition is not known.

The roadway was closed until approximately 10:45 a.m. until police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
